Timber sash · spiral balance
Vertically sliding timber sashes supported by a spiral-balance mechanism.

- Vertical sliding operation
- Spiral-balance mechanism
- Traditional sash proportions
Product details
Familiar proportions. A different balance.
View full size A spiral-balance sash retains the vertical sliding movement and familiar proportions of a timber sash window. Its balancing mechanism differs from the cord, pulley and weight arrangement of a traditional box sash.
Meeting rails, glazing bars, horns and surrounding timber details influence how the window sits within the facade. These details can be discussed alongside operation and glazing, with the final balance system selected for the sash weight.

Joinery, fit & operation
Two ways to balance a sash.
Both options move vertically. The practical choice is how the sash is balanced, how the frame fits your opening and which joinery details suit the building.
The balance mechanism alone does not determine warmth, price, maintenance or planning suitability. Confirm the construction, glazing, seals and installation for the proposed window. Listed-building and conservation requirements must be checked for the individual property.
